Focal Mechanism and Regional Fault Activity Analysis of 2022 Luding Strong Earthquake Constraint by InSAR and Its Inversion

On 5 September 2022, an Ms6.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Luding County, Sichuan Province, China. Based on Sentinel-1 SAR images, this paper uses the D-InSAR approach to obtain displacement field of earthquake, invert coseismic sliding distribution, and then calculate static coulomb stress changes deformation aftershock distribution surrounding faults. Further, seismic structure is analyzed discussed. The InSAR demonstrates that maximum LoS surface caused by about 15 cm. Ms 6.8 dominated Moxi fault, which a left-lateral strike-slip fault ruptures along NNW-SSE trend at 160.3°, dip 81°. depth mainly 5~15 km, amount 174.8 cm, corresponding 8.5 km. moment tensor obtained inversion 1.06 × 1019 Nm, Mw = 6.65. Coulomb generated northern end Anninghe zone exceeded trigger threshold. risk fault’s future was greater, continuous monitoring assessment were required.
